Ira Smith, MBA,
CA·CIRP President, Trustee in Bankruptcy
Ira is a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Insolvency and
Restructuring Professional and a Trustee in Bankruptcy. Ira began his
insolvency career in 1979 and for over 17 years was an insolvency partner in
the global financial services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc. Ira's experience
and his focussed approach, produces the highest quality of independent
professional advice and service, which his name has always been synonymous
with, with the extra agility, flexibility and freedom that his business model
of an entrepreneurial specialty firm allows.
Ira was a long term member
of the Board of Directors, including Past President, of the Ontario Association
of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals. He continues to serve on various
committees of the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring
Professionals. Most notably, Ira was Chair of its Professional Conduct
Committee.
Brandon Smith, BA
Brandon graduated with his BA in Business & Society
from York University, and then obtained his Bachelor of Applied Technology
Degree - Construction Science and Management at George Brown College. Brandon's
experience prior to joining Ira Smith Trustee & Receiver Inc. includes
involvement in the construction and renovation industry. Brandon's experience
has proved invaluable in construction related insolvency matters in both the
complex areas of verification and quantification of lien claims and asset
realizations.
Brandon is an Articling Member in the Canadian
Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals.
Martin Wolfe, BA, CA
Martin joined Ira Smith Trustee & Receiver Inc. in
April 2007. Martin is a Chartered Accountant and is a member of the Institute
of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.
Martin's experience includes both public accounting and
in industry where he spent many years in the financial services sector. His
background includes work assignments in the United States and Canada. Martin
provides hands on management and accounting services for insolvency
engagements.
Cheryl Deshane
Cheryl attended the Accounting and Finance course at
Seneca College, and then went on to study at York University. Cheryl also
obtained her certificate from the Canadian Association of Insolvency and
Restructuring Professionals on Insolvency Administration in April, 2004.
Cheryl has 7 years experience as an Estate Administrator at
PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc., in the Corporate Advisory and Restructuring Group,
where she worked on Interim Receiverships, Proposals, Bankruptcies; CCAAs and
Liquidations. Cheryl joined Ira Smith Trustee & Receiver Inc., in March
2008.
Steven Smith, BA (Hons.)
Since the inception of Ira Smith Trustee & Receiver
Inc. in April 2005, Steven has proved to be a valuable asset to the
organization. He has spearheaded many initiatives that have aided in the growth
of the firm. Along with his efficiency-stimulating projects, Steven is also
directly involved in a wide range of activities including account reviews and
investigations, assisting in bankruptcy court matters, and taking possession of
business premises and assets.
